Michaela and I wanted to say, hello! and to introduce ourselves. We are very much looking forward to joining you all in Weston and look forward to getting to know you all. It might take a little time to remember all your names, but just keep on gently reminding us and I am sure your names will be a firm part of our circle of friends.
At present I am the Vicar of a parish, Christ the King, Salfords, Surrey. The easiest way to say where we are is just up from Gatwick Airport or just down from Reigate. We have been blessed over the last six years to share with the parish their journey of faith and fellowship. Alongside this I have been the Parish Development Officer for the Croydon Episcopal Area in the Diocese of Southwark. I have been supporting parishes across a wide area, helping them find ways to grow and to serve their communities.
Michaela, my wife, is a deputy head teacher of a secondary academy school in Sunbury-upon-Thames. Michaela has been ordained since 2000. We have been married for 27 years. We have two dogs, Emmy, a very fun-loving Springer cross Labrador. She gives a whole new meaning to the word, ‘Bouncy’! Jack is a pure-bred Labrador and is as soft and daft as you could get. However, as a Labrador, he has a passion for food, so don’t say you haven’t been warned! I hope if you see us out and about you will stop us to say hello.
As we begin our journey in the near future, I want to assure you all of our prayers for you all and I hope we might be blessed by your prayerful support. We look forward to being a part of the community and working alongside you as we witness to the Love of God and seek ways to share that blessing as widely as possible.
Shane's Induction and Collation service will be held here at All Saints on Monday1st July at 7.30 pm. All parishioners and church members are invited to come and welcome him, his wife Michaela and their dogs Emmy and Jack to All Saints.
